Basketball Game Preview: McCook Bison vs. Minden Whippets

McCook has gone 8-2 against Minden recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Bison will be taking part in a tournament against the Whippets at 6:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Minden will be up against a hot McCook team: the squad just extended their winning streak to four. The Bison enjoyed a cozy 77-61 win over Holdrege on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Minden posted their closest victory since December 29, 2025 on Friday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 59-56 win over Holdrege.

McCook better keep an eye on Traelin Christensen. He was instrumental in Minden's win, dropping a double-double with 26 points and 15 boards. They are undefeated when Christensen posts ten or more rebounds, but 3-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Luke Craig, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Minden was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 9-3 when they've passed the ball that well.

Minden's victory bumped their record up to 10-5. As for McCook, their win bumped their record up to 12-3.

McCook strolled past Minden in their previous meeting last Saturday by a score of 72-56. Will the Bison repeat their success, or do the Whippets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
