Baseball Recap: Thompson Valley Victorious

Thompson Valley's game on Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-5 win over the Timnath Cubs. The Eagles have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cubs, too.

Sam Engelland was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and one triple. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Finn McAlpin, who went 3-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Thompson Valley kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in five consecutive contests.

Thompson Valley's record now sits at 4-10. As for Timnath, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-7.

Thompson Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cubs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
