Basketball Recap: North Judson-San Pierre Comes Up Short

North Judson-San Pierre lost against Kankakee Valley back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The North Judson-San Pierre Bluejays lost to the Kankakee Valley Kougars on the road by a 50-31 margin. The Bluejays were down 45-17 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Brady Sampson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 18 points and 12 rebounds for Kankakee Valley. Sampson has become a key player for Kankakee Valley: the team is undefeated when he posts at least ten boards, but 9-11 otherwise. Brodie Ellenwood was another key player, putting up nine points.

North Judson-San Pierre has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-13 record this season. The win snapped Kankakee Valley's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 12-11 record.

North Judson-San Pierre and Kankakee Valley are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. North Judson-San Pierre will take on South Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in South Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last eight contests. As for Kankakee Valley, they will challenge River Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. River Forest will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Kankakee Valley surely won't give up without a fight.
