Basketball Recap: Argos' Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

Argos had lost ten straight headed into Friday's game, but Luke Stults didn't let it get to 11. The Argos Dragons slipped by the Bethany Christian Bruins 50-49 on Friday thanks in part to Stults, who dropped a double-double on 27 points and 13 boards. That makes it seven consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Argos' points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Mack Calhoun, who posted four points and five rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in blocks (two).

Bethany Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacoby Reinhardt, who had 16 points and six rebounds. Another player making a difference was Trey Caffee, who put up 12 points.

Argos' first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-7. As for Bethany Christian, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 6-6.

Argos wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 58-28 loss against Plymouth on the 11th. As for Bethany Christian, they will welcome South Bend Career Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
