Baseball Game Preview: Shelbyville Golden Bears vs. Franklin County Wildcats

The Shelbyville Golden Bears will face off against the Franklin County Wildcats at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Shelbyville is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.

Shelbyville's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Delta by a score of 4-0.

The result came thanks to Dalton Jones's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

On the hitting side, Shelbyville saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gavyn Fisher, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Franklin County lost 14-1 to South Dearborn on Thursday. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Shelbyville's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Franklin County, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Shelbyville beat Franklin County 10-6 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Golden Bears repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
