Softball Game Preview: Prairie Grove Tigers vs. Rogers Heritage War Eagles

The Prairie Grove Tigers will head out to face off against the Rogers Heritage War Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Prairie Grove took on Gravette on Thursday. The Tigers fell just short of the Lions by a score of 4-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kennye White spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and one unearned) runs on seven hits.

On the hitting side, Prairie Grove saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Burkeley Calvert, who scored a run while going 1-for-3. Angelina Petersen also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Rogers Heritage entered their tilt with Houston Christian on Saturday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. The War Eagles not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th.

The victory got Rogers Heritage back to even at 8-8. As for Prairie Grove, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-8.

Prairie Grove suffered a grim 14-0 defeat to Rogers Heritage in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
