Basketball Recap: Southland Academy Has No Trouble Against Fullington Academy

Southland Academy won the last time they faced Fullington Academy and things went their way on Monday too. The Southland Academy Raiders strolled past the Fullington Academy Trojans with points to spare, taking the game 70-55. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Raiders.

Fullington Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Will Sangster, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 boards. The match was Sangster's eighth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cutter Tharpe, who went 6 of 14 on his way to 22 points.

Southland Academy's win bumped their record up to 7-4. As for Fullington Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southland Academy will take on Stratford Academy in a holiday battle at at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Stratford Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 61.3 points per game this season. As for Fullington Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Windsor Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Fullington Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Windsor Academy likes a good challenge.
