Softball Game Preview: Elsinore Tigers vs. Tahquitz Titans

The Elsinore Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Tahquitz Titans at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Elsinore will be strutting in after a victory while Tahquitz will be coming in after a loss.

Elsinore lost a heartbreaker the last time they played San Jacinto, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Friday's game. Elsinore blew past San Jacinto 14-6 on Friday. The high-scoring effort was just what Elsinore needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on Breann Lipold, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 5-for-5. Those five hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Payton LaRouche, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and two runs.

Elsinore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Titans on Friday. Tahquitz came up short against Temescal Canyon, falling 17-0. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, Tahquitz's shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Elsinore now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Tahquitz, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Elsinore hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .371. However, it's not like Tahquitz struggles in that department as they've averaged .333. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.

Elsinore took their win against Tahquitz when the teams last played back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 21-0 score. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Titans turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
