Baseball Recap: Williston Triumphs

While Williston's victory against Dixie County wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Red Devils won by a run and slipped past the Bears 6-5. The Red Devils haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Maverick Jones was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

Williston's victory bumped their record up to 11-8. As for Dixie County, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season.

Williston will face off against Union County at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Red Devils' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Fightin' Tigers have averaged an impressive 7.4 runs per game this season. As for Dixie County, they will square off against Bell at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Bears' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Bulldogs have averaged an impressive 6.6 runs per game this season.
