Softball Recap: Leon Has No Trouble Against Centerville

Leon was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Centerville on Tuesday. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Tigers. Considering the Cougars have won five matches by more than eight runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Leon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.2 runs over those games. As for Centerville, their loss was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-12.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought as Leon Cougars face off against Lovelady Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Centerville, they are taking a road trip to challenge Oakwood at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers are facing the Panthers at the right time seeing as the Panthers are stuck on a six-game losing streak.
