Basketball Recap: Cambridge Takes a Loss

Cambridge lost against Bellaire back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cambridge Bobcats came up short against the Bellaire Big Reds, falling 51-28. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 582nd, while the Big Reds are ranked 95th).

Bellaire's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Zara Harveth led the charge by dropping a double-double on 18 points and ten boards. Harveth has been hot recently, having posted nine or more rebounds the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tamya Morgan, who posted nine points.

Cambridge has traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season. As for Bellaire, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 11-1.

Cambridge will host Claymont at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Bellaire, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 61-26 victory against Shadyside on the 13th.
