Softball Game Preview: McGehee Hawks vs. Landry Buccaneers

The McGehee Hawks will square off against the Landry Buccaneers at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Landry took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on McGehee, who comes in off a win.

On Wednesday, McGehee made easy work of St. Mary's Academy and carried off a 17-7 win. The victory continues a trend for the Hawks in their matchups with the Cougars: they've now won three in a row.

Meanwhile, Landry unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-field advantage in their season opener. They came up short against A.J. Ellender on Tuesday, falling 23-2. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it five in a row.

Everything went McGehee's way against Landry in their previous matchup back in March of 2025, as McGehee made off with a 16-1 win. Do the Hawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Buccaneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
