Softball Recap: Christian's Win on Monday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Christian). They came out on top against the Granite Hills Eagles by a score of 11-8 on Monday. The victory was nothing new for the Patriots as they're now sitting on four straight.

Sienna Staite looked comfortable as she tossed four innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off seven hits. What's more, she posted five strikeouts, the most she's had since back in March of 2024.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sammy Baca, who fired off two home runs, four runs, and four RBI while going 4-for-4. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaitlyn Moody, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.

Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Christian's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Granite Hills, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4-1 record this season.

Christian will take on Spanish Springs in a tournament on Thursday. Spanish Springs is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.7 runs per game this season. As for Granite Hills, they will host Eastlake at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Eastlake's pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Granite Hills' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
