Basketball Game Preview: Corsica/Stickney Jaguars vs. Parkston Trojans

Corsica/Stickney is 8-2 against Parkston since February of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Corsica/Stickney Jaguars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Parkston Trojans at 7:45 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Corsica/Stickney was handed a 20-point defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Irene/Wakonda, sneaking past 43-41.

Meanwhile, Parkston won against Mt. Vernon on Thursday with 93 points and they decided to stick to that point total again on Thursday. Parkston beat Mt. Vernon/Plankinton by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 93-52. The Trojans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 20 points or more this season.

The victory was the third in a row for Parkston, bringing their record for this year to 15-5. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 83.3 points over those games. As for Corsica/Stickney, their win bumped their record up to 10-8.

Corsica/Stickney beat Parkston 43-36 when the teams last played back in February of 2024. Will Corsica/Stickney repeat their success, or does Parkston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
