Softball Recap: Olpe Eagles vs. Mission Valley Vikings

Olpe extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Monday, dropping their season record down to 0-4 in the process. They came up short against the Mission Valley Vikings, falling 23-3. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Vikings this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Monday.

As for Mission Valley, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 16-6. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

For Mission Valley's part, Keely Chesmore looked comfortable as she pitched four innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off three hits.

On the hitting side, Mission Valley got a massive performance out of Annie Bryan, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those two doubles gave Bryan a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kailynn Jacobson, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base.

Olpe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Mission Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Council Grove at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Vikings' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Braves have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season.
