Basketball Game Preview: Merrol Hyde Magnet Hawks vs. Donelson Christian Academy Wildcats + How To Watch

Merrol Hyde Magnet is 0-8 against Donelson Christian Academy since February of 2018 but things could change on Monday. The Hawks will challenge the Wildcats at 6:00 p.m.

On Friday, Merrol Hyde Magnet came up short against Liberty Creek and fell 52-39. The loss put an end to the Hawks' undefeated start to the season.

Despite their defeat, Merrol Hyde Magnet saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Melania Couret, who posted 14 points, was perhaps the best of all. That was a full 35.9% of the Hawks' points, marking the third time in a row Couret has earned more than a third of the team's points. Ainsley Mitchell was another key player, putting up six points and nine boards.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Donelson Christian Academy faced off against Grace Christian Academy on Thursday. The Wildcats simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Lions 64-20. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Lions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Having lost for the first time this season, Merrol Hyde Magnet fell to 2-1. As for Donelson Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 2-0.

Merrol Hyde Magnet took a serious blow against Donelson Christian Academy when the teams last played back in November of 2024, falling 56-29. Can the Hawks avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
