Volleyball Game Preview: Bishop Hartley Hawks vs. St. Francis DeSales Stallions

Bishop Hartley is 0-10 against St. Francis DeSales since April of 2021 but things could change on Tuesday. The Hawks will be playing at home against the Stallions at 6:30 p.m. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Bishop Hartley is headed into Tuesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their eighth straight game dating back to last season on Thursday. They lost 3-0 to St. Charles.

The final score came out to 25-18, 25-12, 25-10.

Meanwhile, St. Francis DeSales was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They came up short against Bishop Fenwick, falling 3-0.

While St. Francis DeSales had to settle for second, they sure made a game of it, scoring at least 18 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-18, 25-20.

Bishop Hartley will have to keep a close watch on Dominic Trolli and Casey Althouse, a pair of players who had a big impact on St. Francis DeSales' prior game. Trolli had 14 assists and one block, while Althouse had six kills. Trolli has been hot for a while, having posted 14 or more assists the last 20 times he's played.

Bishop Hartley's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for St. Francis DeSales, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.

Bishop Hartley suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to St. Francis DeSales in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Hawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
