Volleyball Recap: Virginia Episcopal School Bishops vs. New Covenant Gryphons

Virginia Episcopal School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They came up short against the New Covenant Gryphons , falling 3-0. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Bishops of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in November of 2023.

The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 25-16, 25-13.

New Covenant was led to victory by Jocelyn Walker and Embry Carlton. Walker had five aces and 18 assists, while Carlton had six digs and five aces. Walker is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 18 or more in the last eight games she's played dating back to last season.

Virginia Episcopal School's defeat dropped their record down to 0-9. As for New Covenant, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. After both having extra time off, Virginia Episcopal School and Carlisle will dust off their jerseys to face off against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for New Covenant, they will take on Roanoke Catholic at 6:15 p.m. on Thursday.
