Hunter-Kinard-Tyler extends home winning streak to 14

Recap: Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans vs. Ridge Spring-Monetta Trojans

Make it seven blowout wins for the Hunter-Kinard-Tyler Trojans this season. They took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 62-21 victory over Ridge Spring-Monetta. With Hunter-Kinard-Tyler ahead 30-7 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Tilayzia Youmans was her usual excellent self, scoring 22 points along with nine rebounds and five assists. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Aysiah Bonaparte, who scored 18 points along with five steals.

Despite the defeat, Ridge Spring-Monetta saw an underclassman step up: Sariya Geyer scored four points along with 12 rebounds.

Hunter-Kinard-Tyler pushed their record up to 11-3 with that win, which was their 14th straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.07 points. As for Ridge Spring-Monetta, their loss dropped their record down to 7-10.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hunter-Kinard-Tyler will take on Blackville-Hilda at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Blackville-Hilda focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday. Ridge Spring-Monetta won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Calhoun County at 6:00 p.m. on January 17th.
