Football Recap: Saddle Brook Piles Up the Points Against Tenafly

Saddle Brook had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They breezed past the Tenafly Tigers to the tune of 40-7.

Saddle Brook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jayden Gatyas, who picked up 209 receiving yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 70 yards and one score. Those 209 receiving yards gave Gatyas a new career-high. Nik Vitiello was another key signal caller, throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns while completing 91.7% of his passes.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Saddle Brook was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 286 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 189 rushing yards in five consecutive games.

Saddle Brook's record is now 3-7. As for Tenafly, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-6.

Saddle Brook does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Tenafly, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bergenfield at 6:00 p.m. on November 6.
