Softball Recap: Grace Community Takes a Loss

Grace Community lost against Hawkins back in March of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grace Community Cougars came up short against the Hawkins Hawks, falling 9-3. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Macie Mathis was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 4-for-4. That's the most hits she has posted since back in February of 2024. Sadie Arriola was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-3.

Grace Community now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Hawkins, their victory bumped their record up to 6-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Grace Community will face off against New Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hawkins, they will square off against Big Sandy at 1:00 p.m. on Monday.
