Recap: Rock Academy Warriors vs. Maranatha Christian Eagles
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Rock Academy Warriors, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They suffered a tough 35-14 defeat at the hands of Maranatha Christian on Friday. Rock Academy's defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
Although Rock Academy took the loss, they still got scores from Carson Manjarrez and Billy Bolton.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Maranatha Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Karlsen Drake, who rushed for 71 yards and three touchdowns. Grayson Kennedy was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown.
Rock Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Maranatha Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 5-6.
Rock Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Maranatha Christian will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Holtville at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Holtville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Maranatha Christian in California (Holtville is ranked 449th, while Maranatha Christian is ranked 918th).
