Basketball Recap: John F. Kennedy Victorious

Rhodes came into Tuesday's matchup looking for another win against John F. Kennedy, but Precious Williams wouldn't allow it. The John F. Kennedy Fighting Eagles came out on top against the Rhodes Rams by a score of 57-49 on Tuesday thanks in part to Williams, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards. That makes it ten consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of John F. Kennedy's points.

Another player making a difference was Charlaya Sanders, who posted nine points along with seven rebounds and five steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

Rhodes' defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Daniya King, who dropped a double-double on 17 points and 13 boards. King is crushing it when it comes to rebounds: she's pulled down at least eight every time she's taken the court this season. Layla Garcia also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assists of the season.

John F. Kennedy's victory bumped their record up to 10-6. As for Rhodes, their loss dropped their record down to 9-3.

John F. Kennedy will look to defend their home court on February 7th against Cleveland Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. As for Rhodes, they will venture away from home to challenge John Hay at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
