Baseball Game Preview: Williams Bay Bulldogs vs. Parkview Vikings

For the second straight game, Williams Bay will face off against Parkview. The Bulldogs will challenge the Vikings at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Williams Bay hasn't scored more than two runs for five games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Williams Bay lost 9-2 to Parkview on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Bulldogs have suffered against the Vikings since April 21, 2018.

For Parkview's part, Louis Nath was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits (and only one walk). Nath was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run. He has become a key player for Parkview: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two stolen bases, but 2-10 otherwise.

In other batting news, Mathias Treinen was incredible, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last six games he's played. Christrian Hobon also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Parkview and bumps their season record up to 5-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Williams Bay, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.
