Softball Game Preview: Weber Warriors vs. Farmington Phoenix

The Weber Warriors will challenge the Farmington Phoenix at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Weber has now lost 11 straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since the 8th.

Bingham hit Weber with a six-run first inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Miners, falling 11-1.

Weber saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Emery Hayes, who went 1-for-2 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Hayes has hit this season.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Farmington and Fremont had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Phoenix fell 18-14 to the Silverwolves on Thursday. The Phoenix have struggled against the Silverwolves recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Brooklyn Wright stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one home run the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Lola Ogzewalla, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs and two RBI.

Weber's loss dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Farmington, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-7.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Weber hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Farmington struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.7 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
