The Geneseo Blue Devils will venture away from home to challenge the Keshequa Indians at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Geneseo will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Geneseo barely beat Warsaw the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Blue Devils were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Tigers on Monday. Considering the Blue Devils have won six matchups by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Bryce Patterson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, Geneseo let Brady O'Brien and Preston Granger run wild. O'Brien went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Granger went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most stolen bases O'Brien has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Luke Davis, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Keshequa fell victim to Le Roy and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 10-0 to the Oatkan Knights. Having soared to a lofty 15 runs in the game before, the Indians' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Having lost for the first time this season, Keshequa fell to 9-1. As for Geneseo, their record is now 10-4.
Tuesday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Geneseo hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .359. However, it's not like Keshequa struggles in that department as they've averaged .424. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Geneseo's way against Keshequa in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Geneseo made off with a 25-3 win. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
