Basketball Game Preview: Deseret Peak Golden Eagles vs. Grantsville Cowboys

The Deseret Peak Golden Eagles will challenge the Grantsville Cowboys at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Deseret Peak is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Park City on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Golden Eagles were dealt an 81-54 loss at the hands of the Miners.

Meanwhile, Grantsville unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They took a 67-58 hit to the loss column at the hands of Union on Saturday. The defeat continues a trend for the Cowboys in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost six in a row.

Deseret Peak will need to focus on slowing down Jordan Fawson, one of several Grantsville players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 11 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Kolter Dong, who scored eight points and five boards.

Deseret Peak's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Grantsville, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
