Football Recap: Eaton's Run of Four Straight Wins Now Over + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Eaton can now relate to. They came up short against the Elizabeth Cardinals on Saturday, falling 35-13. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Reds couldn't push the score so high this time.

Eaton's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Max Blaskowski, who picked up 87 receiving yards and one touchdown.

It was another big night for Griffin Widhalm, who rushed for 125 yards and three scores on only ten carries, and also threw for 48 yards and one TD while completing 75% of his passes for Elizabeth. Widhalm really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run. Another player making a difference was Tristan McCray, who rushed for 91 yards and one touchdown.

With the defeat, Eaton broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-4. As for Elizabeth, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-2.

Eaton does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Elizabeth, they will take on Wellington at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Eagles' defense has only allowed 5.2 points per game this season, so the Cardinals' offense will have their work cut out for them.
