It was a good run, but Chicago Christian unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 52-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Manteno Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Panthers are ranked 164th).

Chicago Christian's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sydney Harris, who posted five points and 14 rebounds. Harris is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played. Madison Dodd was another key player, putting up nine points.

Manteno's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Maddie Gesky, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. Another player making a difference was Emily Horath, who put up eight points in addition to 13 boards and five blocks.

Chicago Christian's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-9. As for Manteno, the win keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.

Chicago Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 34-32 victory against Illiana Christian on the 7th. As for Manteno, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 51-20 win against Newark on the 6th.
