Basketball Recap: Houghton Lake Comes Up Short

Houghton Lake lost against Evart back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Houghton Lake Bobcats lost 53-30 to the Evart Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 474th, while the Wildcats are ranked 54th).

Houghton Lake has also been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season. Evart has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 12 of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-2 record this season.

Houghton Lake will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Tawas Area at 7:00 p.m. As for Evart, a feisty cat fight will be fought as the Wildcats challenge the Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
