Basketball Game Preview: Greeneville Greene Devils vs. Maryville Red Rebels

The Greeneville Greene Devils will face off against the Maryville Red Rebels at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Greeneville comes in on five and Maryville on three.

Greeneville is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Morristown-Hamblen East 72-52 on Friday. The score was close at halftime, but the Greene Devils pulled away in the second half with 37 points.

Greeneville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Julia Woolsey, who almost dropped a triple-double with nine points, 16 boards, and ten assists. Woolsey has become a key player for the Greene Devils: the team is undefeated when she posts at least eight rebounds, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Brylee Tullock, who posted 22 points along with five assists and five boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Greeneville was working as a unit and finished the game with 25 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January.

Meanwhile, Maryville humbled Walker Valley with a 62-22 victory.

Greeneville's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Maryville, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
