Volleyball Recap: Langston Hughes Takes a Loss

It was a proper cat-fight when Langston Hughes challenged Alexander on Thursday. The Panthers fell 2-0 to the Cougars. The loss continues a trend for the Panthers in their meetings with the Cougars: they've now lost seven in a row.

Langston Hughes was the model of consistency in the loss, scoring 17 points in every single set they played. The final score came out to 25-17, 25-17.

Desiree Robinson paced Langston Hughes' offense, picking up three kills. Robinson got some help from Chamarie Lisbon and her seven assists. Kaylen Dowell controlled things from the service line, finishing with seven aces.

Langston Hughes' defeat dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Alexander, they now have a winning record of 8-7.

After both having extra time off, Langston Hughes and Mundy's Mill will shake off the rust and duke it out at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Alexander, they have already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Douglas County on the 28th.
