Football Game Preview: Guthrie Bluejays vs. Noble Bears

The Guthrie Bluejays are taking a road trip to square off against the Noble Bears at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Guthrie will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last.

Guthrie is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Marshall: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Bluejays blew the Bears out of the water with a 60-8 final score. That 52 point margin sets a new team best for the Bluejays this season.

Guthrie's defense made their presence known, laying out the QB nine times. Kade Barton was particularly dangerous to the passing game, picking up four sacks himself. Thanks to that big game, he is now up to 5 sacks on the season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Noble). They came out on top against Lawton by a score of 20-8 on Thursday.

Guthrie's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-1. The home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.0 points over those games. As for Noble, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything came up roses for Guthrie against Noble in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the team secured a 41-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bluejays since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
