The Banning Lewis Academy Stallions will head out on the road to take on The Vanguard School Coursers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Last Wednesday, Banning Lewis Academy strolled past Florence with points to spare, taking the game 63-49. The win was just what Banning Lewis Academy needed coming off of a 43-23 defeat in their prior game.

Banning Lewis Academy can attribute much of their success to Joseph Bjegovich, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and five assists, and Kobe Welch, who scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Welch has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Jones, who scored six points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Meanwhile, The Vanguard School put another one in the bag on Wednesday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Woodland Park 74-42 on the road. The Vanguard School has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six games by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Cameron Rowney, who scored 20 points along with five steals. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. JJ Wetters was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six assists and three steals.

Banning Lewis Academy pushed their record up to 8-3 with that win, which was their eighth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for The Vanguard School, their victory bumped their record up to 9-0.

Banning Lewis Academy came up short against The Vanguard School in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, falling 51-44. Thankfully for Banning Lewis Academy, Drew Houchens (who scored 19 points along with two steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
