Basketball Recap: Urbana University Illineks vs. La Salette Academy Lions
Urbana University was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were dealt a 56-12 defeat at the hands of the La Salette Academy Lions. The matchup marked the Illineks' lowest-scoring game so far this season.
La Salette Academy can attribute much of their success to John Brauner, who went 5 of 10 to rack up 14 points and four steals. That's the most steals Brauner has posted since back in February of 2024. Owen Whitehead was another key player, putting up nine points and five rebounds.
Urbana University's loss dropped their record down to 1-21. As for La Salette Academy, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Urbana University will take on Decatur Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. We've got a battle between Lions coming up.
