Basketball Recap: Xavier Prep Takes a Loss

Xavier Prep was the 68-66 winner over Coachella Valley when they last played one another last Friday, but their luck changed this time around. The Xavier Prep Saints fell 57-47 to the Coachella Valley Mighty Arabs on Saturday. The Saints have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Israel Garcia was his usual excellent self, putting up 19 points in addition to five boards and four steals for Coachella Valley. Another player making a difference was Franky Aguirre, who posted 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.

Xavier Prep's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for Coachella Valley, their record now sits at 9-4.

Xavier Prep and Twentynine Palms will round out the year against one another at at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Xavier Prep is facing Twentynine Palms at the right time seeing as Twentynine Palms is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Coachella Valley, they will take on Brawley at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Coachella Valley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 66.8 points per game this season.
