Baseball Recap: Middletown Takes a Loss

Middletown fell victim to Simsbury and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They lost 13-0 to the Trojans. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Blue Dragons were not able to get on the board.

Middletown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Frankie Randazzese, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases. David Knapp also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Middletown has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-8 record this season. As for Simsbury, the win got them back to even at 3-3.

Looking ahead, Middletown will take on Northwest Catholic at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Simsbury, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wethersfield at 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Trojans surely won't give up without a fight.
