Baseball Game Preview: Bloomfield Bengals vs. Livingston Lancers

The Bloomfield Bengals will square off against the Livingston Lancers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Bloomfield will be strutting in after a victory while Livingston will be coming in after a loss.

Having struggled with seven defeats in a row, Bloomfield turned things around against Payne Tech on Wednesday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Lions.

The team relied heavily on Darious Rivas, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Meanwhile, after soaring to ten runs the game before, Livingston was a bit more limited in their matchup on Wednesday. They lost 9-1 to Don Bosco Prep. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Lancers have suffered since June 5, 2024.

Bloomfield's victory bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Livingston, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-5.

Bloomfield beat Livingston 8-3 when the teams last played back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bengals since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
