Baseball Game Preview: Chaparral Pumas vs. Great Oak Wolfpack

For the second straight game, Chaparral will face off against Great Oak. The Pumas will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wolfpack at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. Chaparral is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.

On Wednesday, Chaparral came up short against Great Oak and fell 7-2.

For Great Oak's part, Riley Kronenfeld tossed a big game, striking out 12 batters over 5.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. Those 12 strikeouts gave Kronenfeld a new career-high.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sam Pink, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Carrion, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.

Great Oak was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Chaparral only posted a batting average of .130.

The victory made it two in a row for Great Oak and bumps their season record up to 8-13. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 2 run in those games. As for Chaparral, their loss dropped their record down to 11-8.
