Recap: Walhalla Razorbacks vs. Worthington Kilbourne Wolves
It was a good run, but the Walhalla Razorbacks unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Worthington Kilbourne. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (59), Walhalla still had to take the loss.
Several Razorbacks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Kami Roach, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. Roach continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marnie Baxter, who scored 20 points along with five assists.
Worthington Kilbourne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Oliviah Wilkerson, who scored 21 points. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Lilly Schultheis, who scored ten points along with seven steals and five rebounds.
Walhalla's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Worthington Kilbourne, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-6.
Walhalla won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Christchurch School at 1:00 p.m. on December 30, 2023. Christchurch School will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in their respective state's rankings (they are ranked 212th in Virginia, while Walhalla is ranked 50th in South Carolina). Worthington Kilbourne won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Halls at 9:00 a.m. on December 30, 2023.
