Basketball Game Preview: John Carroll Catholic Rams vs. Tradition Prep Pirates

Having just played yesterday, the John Carroll Catholic Rams will head out on the road to face off against the Tradition Prep Pirates at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. John Carroll Catholic will be strutting in after a victory while Tradition Prep will be coming in after a loss.

On Tuesday, John Carroll Catholic didn't have too much trouble with Cardinal Newman as they won 51-36. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Rams.

John Carroll Catholic's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kali Clive, who posted 12 points. Olivia Laughlin was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 13 boards.

John Carroll Catholic smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in eight consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Tradition Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a blow against Somerset College Prep Academy, falling 80-14. The Pirates were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 37-12.

Tradition Prep's loss dropped their record down to 1-10. As for John Carroll Catholic, their victory bumped their record up to 8-4.

Everything came up roses for John Carroll Catholic against Tradition Prep when the teams last played back in November of 2024, as the squad secured a 55-13 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for John Carroll Catholic since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
