Softball Game Preview: Baldwin County Tigers vs. Saraland Spartans

The Baldwin County Tigers will venture away from home to challenge the Saraland Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Baldwin County's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four games, but Tuesday's matchup will give them a chance to turn things around.

Baldwin County's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed last Thursday. They won by a run and slipped past McCracken County 1-0.

The result came thanks to Madilyn Byrd's shutout, as she gave up just two hits and racked up 14 Ks. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances.

Saraland might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 5-4 to Oakland, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Baldwin County's win bumped their record up to 19-12. As for Saraland, their loss dropped their record down to 23-11-1.

Baldwin County came out on top in a nail-biter against Saraland in their previous matchup back in March, sneaking past 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
