Softball Recap: Fort Bend Kempner Cougars vs. Almeta Crawford Chargers
The Fort Bend Kempner Cougars came up short against the Almeta Crawford Chargers on Tuesday, falling 23-13.
Sydney Hatch made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three hits, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Christa Marino, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one run.
Even though they lost, Fort Bend Kempner was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .423. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Fort Bend Kempner now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Almeta Crawford, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
Looking ahead, Fort Bend Kempner will take on Victoria West at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The game will give Victoria West their first taste of in-conferenceaction this season. As for Almeta Crawford, they will be playing at home against Angleton at 6:30 p.m. on March 4th. Angleton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Almeta Crawford surely won't give up without a fight.
