Softball Game Preview: West Bladen Knights vs. Midway Raiders

For the second straight game, West Bladen will face off against Midway. The Knights will be playing at home against the Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.

West Bladen fell victim to Midway and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 10-0 to the Raiders. The Knights haven't had much luck with the Raiders recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

For Midway's part, the team relied heavily on Samantha Carter, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most runs Carter has posted since back in April of 2024. Ella Clark was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run.

Carter wasn't the only one making solid contact: Midway kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in five consecutive matchups.

Midway pushed their record up to 11-2 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.9 runs over those games. As for West Bladen, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.
