Picayune had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the West Jones Mustangs 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Maroon Tide in their matchups with the Mustangs: they've now won three in a row.

Picayune got a big performance out of Parker Helton, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. Another player making a difference was Brunson Stockstill, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Picayune's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for West Jones, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-11.

Picayune will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
