Sulligent hadn't done well against Fayette County recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Blue Devils narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Tigers 2-1. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since August 27, 2022, but that streak is no more.

Sulligent had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-21, 15-4.

Sulligent's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Fayette County, they moved to 28-6 with that defeat, which also ended their six-match winning streak.
