Basketball Recap: Eugene Takes a Loss

If Eugene was riding high fresh off their 62-38 takedown of Hermitage last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Eugene Eagles took a 48-40 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Climax Springs Cougars on Saturday. The Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.

Eugene has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Climax Springs, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Eugene will take on Hallsville in a holiday battle at at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Eugene is facing Hallsville at the right time seeing as Hallsville is stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Climax Springs, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Climax Springs Cougars take on the Halfway Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
