League recap: Xavier rises in state rank

Xavier scaled the state rankings by moving to 133 from 165 this week, the biggest jump in Catholic. The Knights were able to move up by defeating Fordham Prep 33-0.

Xavier took down the Rams 33-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.

Bishop Ford's James Esposito and Rodney Gonzales have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-1 quarterback Esposito has thrown for 1,932 yards this season, while Gonzales has 47 catches for 878 yards. Jordan Gowins from St. Anthony's leads the league in rushing with 1,923 yards.

Chris Stevens' team made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 5,442 from 6,233. The improvement was the result of a 33-0 victory over Fordham Prep last week.
