Basketball Game Preview: Peak to Peak Pumas vs. Elizabeth Cardinals

The Peak to Peak Pumas will face off against the Elizabeth Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Tuesday, everything went Peak to Peak's way against Stargate School as Peak to Peak made off with a 71-48 win. The victory continues a trend for the Pumas in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won four in a row.

Tysen Burton was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double with 19 points and nine rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in each of the last ten games he's played. Elijah Eschmeyer was another key player, dropping a double-double with ten points and 11 boards.

Meanwhile, Elizabeth had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They strolled past the Jaguars with points to spare, taking the game 64-45.

Peak to Peak pushed their record up to 20-2 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.4 points over those games. As for Elizabeth, their victory bumped their record up to 10-12.
