Basketball Recap: Central Arkansas Christian Takes a Loss

After flying high against Pulaski County HomeSchool last Thursday, Central Arkansas Christian came back down to earth. The Central Arkansas Christian Mustangs took a 55-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Stuttgart Ricebirds. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas basketball rankings (they are ranked 170th, while the Ricebirds are ranked 13th).

Central Arkansas Christian has traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.4 points per game. As for Stuttgart, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Central Arkansas Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Lonoke at 7:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Stuttgart, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Morrilton at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Stuttgart's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five games.
